The Louisiana Purchase and The Lewis and Clark Expedition

President Jefferson was responsible for the Louisiana Purchase. The purchase of this land foe 15 million dollars expanded the United States from the Mississippi to the Pacific Ocean and double the area of the U.S. James Monroe was one of the people who negotiated the agreement.

The goal of this section is to provide student with notes on the Louisiana Purchase the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Any comments, corrections, or ways to improve this site can be sent to me at the address at the end of this page. I have created this in note form to make it easier for students to read, understand and use. I have have divided it into two sections the purchase and the expedition.
