This lesson was developed in the course Teaching with WebQuests , a course offered by the Teacher Education Institute .
Titan Trekkers was created as a culminating activity in a course on Desktop Publishing and combines several elements which can be used as an assessment of the student's ability to do research and create "publications".
While this WebQuest was specifically created for a technology related course, individual elements (research, flyer, PowerPoint presentation) could be projects on their own in any other subject area. In addition, where time is an issue, or a PowerPoint presentation would not be viable, the creation of a brochure could be substituted.
